CONUL ANLTC, our committee with responsibility for the delivery of staff training and professional development opportunities, has delivered a packed Annual Review for 2015. With representatives from each of the CONUL libraries, ANLTC is a splendid example of focused collaborative working within a tightly-structured framework.
Introduced by then chair, Ann Mitchell, NUI Galway, the report highlights the training outputs for the year which included the roll-out of Innovation Days at NUI Galway and Maynooth University respectively and the provision of a wide range of courses. 2015 also witnessed the first CONUL conference ─ ‘Innovation and Evolution: challenges and opportunities for 21st-century academic and research libraries’ ─ held at Athlone, 3-4 June. This highly successful inaugural conference was organised by a small team, led by Carmel O’Sullivan, UCD, with Helen Fallon, Maynooth University and Ellen Breen, DCU. The exploitation of social media as well as more traditional publishing outlets, e.g. An Leabharlann, to share the conference outputs is indicative of the committee’s commitment to the promotion of professional development by every means. Feedback from all courses and the conference was thoroughly assessed and informed the 2016 programme.

Congratulations to our ANLTC colleagues on the success of your endeavours and thank you on behalf of the CONUL team.
