A Very Long Engagement – how one subject librarian has successfully built rapport with her disciplines
Speaker: Norma Menabney, Queens University Belfast
Responsible for subject support for the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work; and the Queen’s Business School
In this informal talk Norma Menabney will look at how she has managed to achieve a very strong relationship with schools she supports at Queen’s University Belfast. In the academic year 2023/24 Norma delivered training to over 2500 staff and students in the Queen’s Business School and the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work. Within her schools, Library induction and skills training are an integral part of many modules. Norma will share her insights into how she gets the library embedded into modules, builds rapport with academics, and has developed ways of making one-to-one appointments targeted and successful.
