The National Folklore Collection began a new project on April 20th with the launch of their Blúiríní Béaloidis / Folklore Fragments podcast. A new monthly, bilingual folklore podcast, Blúiríní Béaloidis is a platform to explore Irish and European folk tradition across an array of subject areas and topics. Folklore staff (and hosts) Jonny Dillon and Claire Doohan hope these informal and friendly tours through the folklore furrow will appeal to those who wish to learn about the richness and depth of our traditional cultural heritage. In keeping with our guiding ethos we hope that knowledge and understanding of our past might inform our present, and guide our future.
The third podcast was released at the end of last month, focusing on the moon in folk tradition. Two previous installments focused on May Day folklore and a general overview and introduction to folklore. Future podcasts will be released usually the last week of each month. You may listen to/browse all podcasts so far in SoundCloud.
