On Thursday November 5th 2020 CONUL Teaching and Learning Group in association with CONUL Research Group will host the following online seminar:
Information literacy and scholarly communication: exploring the potential for collaboration
About this Event
The CONUL Teaching and Learning Group, in association with the CONUL Research Group, aims to explore the commonalities of information literacy and scholarly communication in libraries, encouraging new perspectives for our advocacy work with academics and students in these fast-changing areas. Inspired by the CILIP Information Literacy Group’s recent event in Liverpool, it will draw on the Irish context and will use online presentations and activities to identify key areas where information literacy and open scholarship intersect, and examine how librarians might be able to collaborate to engage key stakeholders and support both agendas.
The event will be chaired by:
Dr Jane Secker, Senior Lecturer, Educational Development at City University, Chair of the CILIP Information Literacy Group and a member of the UK Copyright Negotiation and Advisory Committee.
Speakers will include:
Katie Evans, Research Analytics Librarian, University of Bath
Samantha Holman, Chief Executive Officer, Irish Copyright Licensing Association
Michelle Dalton, Head of Research Services, University College Dublin
Hardy Schwamm. Open Scholarship Librarian, NUI Galway
