Description:
Show and tell: exhibitions & outreach for libraries is a daylong seminar that will provide those attending with opportunities to hear and talk about current theory and best practice in the two related areas of exhibitions and outreach, in a variety of Irish libraries. During the coffee and lunch breaks, there will be be plenty of opportunity to network with both leading experts and interested colleagues in the areas of library exhibitions and outreach.
Objectives:
Show and tell: exhibitions & outreach for libraries will enable you to:
- Explore exhibitions & outreach current theory and best practice in National, Public, and Academic libraries
- Learn about the work of commercial designers and interpreters
- Learn about online exhibitions and content
- Learn about comprehensive exhibition evaluation
- Learn, facilitated by Ireland’s leading practitioners
- Network with colleagues in this field
Audience:
Show and tell: exhibitions & outreach for libraries is provided for CONUL staff wishing to learn more about current theory and best practice in the related areas of exhibitions and outreach. The day’s Speakers come from the NLI, TCD, MU, dlr Lexicon, the DRI, and the digital experience company, Noho. Topics covered include the areas of preservation, conservation, learning and outreach, digital exhibitions content, and comprehensive exhibition evaluation. Show and tell: exhibitions & outreach for libraries promises an informed learning opportunity presented by leading practitioners in Ireland in the fields of exhibitions and outreach, and a unique opportunity for attendees to network with colleagues interested and practising in the exhibitions and outreach areas.
