The 2019 Library Assistant Blog award is for an article in the style of a blog post.
Prizes: 1st Prize – €200
2nd Prize – €150
3rd Prize – €100
Closing Date 15 May 2019
Theme: The theme must be library related. This could include any aspect of your current work; your ideas on a particular library development; some training/developmental activity you undertook; an event/innovation in your library; a particular item in your library’s collection; your library building etc.
The Article:
While the document can be created in Word, the version submitted should be produced as a PDF.
It should:
- Include relevant images in the PDF
- Have captions for all images used in the text
- Include links to websites and/or resources mentioned in the piece
- Cite any resources used in the text
- Have sound grammar and spelling
- Acknowledge copyright where relevant
- Have a title which reflects the content
- Not include author’s name
Writing Style:
The piece should be written in the style of a blog post. It should be interesting and engaging. It is not a research paper. The content should be clear and accessible to non-experts. It should be written in a lively style. Your topic should convey your enthusiasm and experience. It should also be informative and relevant to others. Word Count:
Minimum 500 words, maximum 800 (excluding links and references)

Staff at all library assistant and equivalent grades in CONUL Training & Development – member libraries.

Only one application per person will be accepted.
